EV3 Asteroids!
DIRECTIONS
1) Properly MOUNT THE ULTRASONIC SENSOR to avoid obstacles coming toward the robot. 2) Use your knowledge and experience to build a program using the EV3 program that has the ultrasonic sensor detect the objects coming at the robot and to then change directions. Have the robot make a sound upon detection. Think about using appropriate steering, speed, and power in your blocks when changing direction. |
SCREEN RECORD AND VIDEO
3) One partner Record and explain the EV3 LEGO MINDSTORMS PROGRAM using NIMBUS SCREEN RECORDER.
4) Get the ASTEROIDS (balls) from your teacher. Video with your laptop, phone, or iPad your robot avoiding the asteroids.
5) Upload the screen recording of the program and the robot video to a robotics 8 folder.
6) Share with your group members
7) Insert the video of your robot and the Screen recorded program on a new SUBPAGE called "Asteroid Challenge" under your Ultrasonic Sensor page.

SELF -ASSESSMENT
- Emerging : used the Ultrasonic Sensor to detect an asteroid
- Developing: used the Ultrasonic Sensor to detect the asteroid and avoid it successfully.
- Proficient: used the Ultrasonic Sensor to detect an asteroid, make a sound, and successfully avoid the asteroid.
- Extending: used the Ultrasonic Sensor to detect an asteroid, make a sound, and successfully avoid the asteroid and the robot is able to repeat this more than once.
